Product Details

Agilent's Feature Extraction software reads and processes raw microarray image files in preparation for analysis for quick and easy image processing. The software automatically places microarray grids, accurately determines feature intensities and ratios, rejects outliers, and calculates statistical confidences. Easy-to-use graphical interfaces enable you to set up standard or on-time batch processing for automated analysis of Agilent microarray images, while the summary report feature allows you to quickly confirm complete batch processing, identifying any processing steps that could use manual confirmation. Additional software features include generation and storage of analysis protocols, application-specific QC reporting to confirm processing, examination of spike-in controls, and highly automated feature finding and identification with a simple "mouse-over" function. The software is part of Agilent's integrated informatics platform and is compatible with industry standard analysis applications.

Figure 1. Screen shot of the application-specific QC report.
Use the QC Report to rapidly confirm array processing results. Verify reliability of image processing results, detect common microarray hybe/wash artifacts.

Figure 2. Screen shot of the optional QC metric feature for array batches.
When Feature Extraction is used in a production environment where the biological samples are similar, microarray processing protocols are identical and it is desired to monitor run to run consistency. Feature Extraction can help monitor this consistency when used in conjunction with the optional QC Charting tool.
